Swindon started with only one player up front, as Christian Roberts was out injured, so Parkin played on his own, with Brian Howard as an attacking midfielder.
David Duke should have opened the scoring for Swindon in the first half, but he took too long to control his shot, and hit it wide, when he only had the 'keeper to beat.
Holmes should have also scored, but he put way too make power on his shot / cross so no one was able to get to the ball in time, and it went out of play.
After a few early chances it was Matt Hewlett who opened the scoring on 42 minutes after being set up by on loan winger Lee Holmes Hewlett shot from 35 yards out, and the ball just crept the the left of the right hand post, even though the Brentford 'keeper touched the ball before it went in.
In the second half Swindon got their second goal from Brian Howard on 67 minutes when Igoe looked the have over hit his cross, but Howard still managed to head it into the back of the net from a close angle to make it 2-0.
Brentford had a few chances, but depsire Evans dropping a few shots the Swindon defence held out, and always cleared the ball away.
Parkin scored his 12th goal of the season with a close range header after a Steve Jenkins cross to make it 3-0 on 76 minutes. A lot of the Brentford fans gave up and went home at this stage, and by the time there was only 5 minutes to go most of the Brentford fans had already left.
Overall not the best of games, but a good and important win that moves Swindon back up to 10th in the table. Swindon's next game is at home to Colchester on New Year's Day.
