Lee Peacock played as a striker as Malpas said he never saw the player as being a midfielder.
The first half was fairly uneventful and the sides went into half time with the scores being level at 0-0.
Lee Peacock scored from close range just after the break on 49 minutes to give Swindon the lead.
Four minutes later Swindon had made it 2-0 with a goal from Simon Cox.
Then on 70 minutes Simon Cox made it 3-0 with a 25 yard shot finding the back of the net.
Oldham never looked like scoring, and the closest they came to getting a goal was at the end when Brezovan had to make a late save.
Overall a average game, but Swindon did well and for a change took their chances well and won. The win leaves Swindon 15th with 51th points which should be enough to overcome any relegation threat.
