7,716 packed into the County Ground, including over 2,000 QPR fans which saw them out in the rain on the Stratton Bank.
Swindon started the better side and could have scored early on with a chance from Eric Sabin making his first start in 2003 in for the injured Danny Invincibile. Sabin's was so far out that it went closer to smashing our new scoreborad then in the back of the net.
QPR scored first against the run of play when Danny Shittu scored from close range after a QPR corner.
Swindon were back in the game 3 minutes later when Steve Robinson scored his second goal of the season with a one on one with the QPR keeper to make the score 1-1.
Bart Griemink made an great save later on in the first half somehow knocking the ball away from the feet of Furlong just as he looked to score.
On 64 minutes Swindon added a second with Sam Parkin getting his 20th goal of the season, and then Matt Heywood added a third from close range to send half of the QPR fans home with more than 20 minutes still remaining.
Swindon could have added a 4th or a 5th with QPR having to save a ball from the line after Swindon have again beaten to QPR keeper.
Overall a very good game, like the Wigan games 5 weeks ago where Swindon deserved the win against one of the best teams in the division.
Swindon are back in action again on Wednesday at home to Cheltenham Town, in what will be Cheltenham's first visit to the County Ground. Cheltenham are currently bottom of the table, but Cheltenham did beat Swindon 2-0 back in September at Whaddon Road.
