The main change to the starting line up was Steve Book was in goal, and Rhys Evans was dropped to the bench after he was blmaed for letting in the last Luton goal last week.
Swindon started off well having a lot of the ball, but it was Wrexham who took the lead against the run of play on 16 minutes when Ugarte scored from close range.
Then on 33 minutes Wrexham scored again from close range when Hector Sam scored after some poor Swindon defending. At this stage it looked like it was going to be one of those games where everything went wrong, and the fans were now starting to call for "King Out".
At this stage of the game Swindon weren't playing that badly, but a lot of their passes were going to Wrexham players instead of Swindon players, and Wrexham had taken their two chances of the game well.
Sam Parkin pulled a goal back for Swindon on 40 minutes after a long throw from David Duke which Parkin was able to head in from close range to score his 20th goal of the season so far.
The second half started slowly with Swindon's first real chance coming on 66 minutes with Christian Roberts starting his first game in 2005 having his shot saved.
Steve Book was forced to make a good save at the other end, before Roberts wnet off to be replaced by 17 year old Andy Caton, who scored for Swindon against Wrexham in August.
On 76 minutes Jerel Ifil set up Swindon's equaliser when he passed to Jenkins, who was able to cross the ball in for Parkin to score his 21st goal of the season from close range.
On 80 minutes Swindon looked like they should have been given a penalty when Howard was fouled, but a free kick on the edge of the box was given instead. It didn't make much difference in the end as Smith scored from the free kick to give Swindon a 3-2 lead, and get his own goal scoring tally back up after a few weeks without scoring.
Wrexham came close to getting a late equaliser on a couple of times, but the ball went wide, and Wrexham also had a penalty appeal turned down.
The 4th official held up the board for 5 minutes of stoppage time as Swindon tried to wase time with Parkin trying to keep the ball by the corner flag, when then Steve Jenkins was tackled in the area, and Swindon were given a penalty, when I think a lot of fans were expecting him to wave play on. Parkin took the 90th minute penalty and scored, giving him his hattrick, and Swindon Swindon an important come back as well as their first penalty this season.
Overall a good second half, and a fairly poor first half, but an important win which means they are now only 4 points off the play off's in 9th place ahead of Friday's (3pm kick off) first ever visit to Milton Keynes.
