The last time Swindon won 6-0 was back in October 1996 when they beat Huddersfield at the County Ground.

Swindon's first goal of the afternoon was scored after only 15 minutes by Lee Peacock with a volley from the edge of the area.

5 minutes later Swindon had made it 2-0 with a goal from Craig Easton.

On 33 minutes Jack Smith made it 3-0 with his first goal of the season.

With the board already held up for 2 minutes stoppage time it was still only 3-0 before Anthony McNamee scored with a powerful shot finidng the back of the net to make it 4-0.

Swindon weren't finished as Michael Timlin just had time to make it 5-0 before half time. We can't think of another Swindon game where Swindon were winning 5-0 at half time.

Swindon were well on target to beat their 1920 record win of 9-1, but the second half was quite poor with Swindon creating few chances, and Port Vale never looking in the game.

Youth team player Ben Joyce came on for his first ever first team game and after missing a couple of earlier chances made it 6-0 at the end sending the keeper the wrong way.

The win moves Swindon up to 14th with 3 games to go, and wth 54 points they is no longer any threat of relegation this season.
