A stunning 65th minute strike by Clive Platt gave MK Dons' relegation escape plan a massive boost.

The strapping 6ft 4in striker buried relegation rivals Swindon with a great finish to give the Dons a second successive away win.

With four games to go the Dons remain bottom but they are now within touching distance of several of the sides above them.

The defeat was a terrible blow to Swindon, who sank deeper into the relegation mire. They have now won only one of their last 11 games.

They lacked quality and, while not short of effort, were left to count the cost of a miss by Ricky Shakes, who shot wide with only the keeper to beat, ironically just three minutes before the Dons grabbed the winner.
