Danny Invincibile should have made it 2-0 later on, but hit the post, the ball fell to Grazioli who somehow manged not the score, when it would have been easier to miss!
Chesterfield came back when Glynn Hurst scored from just outside the area, after a Swindon mistake.
Alan Reeves made sure of all 3 points mid way through the second half, after his follow up just after a corner.
The win moves Swindon up to 13th with 47 points.
After the game Andy King Said: “I can’t kid anyone or dress it up, it was a poor performance. Yet make no mistake, (and I told the lads this after the game) this was the kind of game that we would have lost last year and in the end, we’ve ground out three points.”
“To me that speaks volumes about the development the side has made and to be fair, the conditions were pretty bad. Don’t get me wrong it was the same for both sides, but when I started to have a go at the players at half time and after the game, they told me that the conditions were awful. I am not trying to say that it wasn’t bad because it was, but the fact is that we’ve got three points and still created a number of other chances.”
“I thought Danny’s effort had gone in, the wind must have had something to do with the fact that it didn’t and ‘Graz’ should have put the rebound away, but even he thought it had gone in. He told me that he had started celebrating before the ball rebounded back out! In the end an Alan Reeves effort was enough for us and although ‘Graz’s goal was slightly fortunate, it just shows how luck can play a major part and it’s about time luck started going our way.”
