Swindon loan signings Darius Henderson and Mark Yeates played major parts in an easy win over a disjointed Hartlepool.
Henderson scored one and could have had a hat-trick while Yeates, on a season loan from Spurs, created two of the goals.
Swindon were three goals up by the interval and they created enough chances to have reached double figures as Hartlepool simply collapsed.
The home side went ahead in the 1tth minute when Henderson rose at the far post to head in a cross from Yeates for his third goal in two appearances.
They then went further ahead in the 37th minute when a centre from Yeates caused more chaos in the Hartlepool defence for Sam Parkin to score from close range Three minutes later Swindon were three up when Andy Gurney got free down the right and his centre was headed powerfully into his own net by Michael Nelson.
Hartlepool's leading scorer Adam Boyd was an isolated figure for much of the game up front but he went close on two occasions as the visitors made a fight of it in the second half Swindon though also had chances after the break with Henderson, Parkin and substiture Rory Fallon all missing from inside the six yard box Deep into injury time Brian Howard some how shot wide with only the keeper to beat and demoralised Hartlepool were glad to hear the final whistle.
Swindon's win was their fourth in succession and the decision by boss Andy King to bring in Henderson and Yeates was more than justified following this performance.
