Before the start of the game Walsall were 10 points clear at the top of the table, and let let in one goal at home all season.
Swindon took the lead on 23 minutes when a Timlin pass found Lukas Jutkiewicz who scored his first ever league goal from 10 yards out.
Swindon seemed to be having more of the play as Walsall rarely looked like scoring, and Jutjiewicz also came close to getting a second goal for Swindon.
In the second half Swindon were awarded a penalty on 68 minutes after Jutkiewicz was fouled in the box. Christian Roberts took the kick which hit the post, but they went in making it 2-0 to Swindon.
Walsall didn't look like getting back in the game and Swindon came close a couple more times, but ran out of time with the game ending 2-0 to Swindon.
Overall this was one of Swindon's best game's the season which they deserved to win. They have now closed Walsall's lead at the top of the table to 7 points ahead of next Saturday's local derby with Bristol Rovers at the County Ground.
