The game kick off 2 hours early due to the Wales V England game, and the crowd was much lower than Walsall normally get as a result.
The game was very much like the Tranmere game last Monday with Swindon having a few odd chances, Walsall not looking much better, but will on loan goal keeper Tom Heaton being forced to make a number of good saves to keep the score down.
In the first half Andy Gurney came close with a free kick on 31 minutes, but this went just over the bar. Apart from this Swindon never really looked like scoring in the first half.
Walsall took the lead on 57 minutes with a close range goal from Matt Fryatt to give the Midlands side the lead.
Overall not a very good game, with only a few chances from either side. Apart from a few chances Swindon never looked like scoring, but they were lucky when the referee looked to have awarded Walsall a penalty, but in fact this turned out to be a goal kick.
For most of the game Swindon only played with Rory Fallon up front, although Ricky Shakes was just behind him, and came close a few times when breaking away. Later in the game Christian Roberts came on, but it was too little, too late.
Swindon's next game is at home to Southend United this Saturday at the County Ground.
