Wigan 2 Swindon 0

Swindon started to game well, but it soon became clear the Wigan were the better team, and were playing the better football.

Luke Nightingale had some early chances for Swindon, but Bart Griemink was by far the most busy of the two goal keepers.

Wigan got the first goal just before half time with a good strike by Teale just inside the box.

In the second half several Wigan fans were fighting amongst themselves in the family stand which kept many of the Swindon fans amused for a few minutes.

Eric Sabin came on in the second half again to replace Luke Nightingale, but he wasn't able to do much with the ball this time.

In the last few minutes Swindon pushed forward to try and grap a goal with a good powerful shot by Alan Reeves being blocked, but then in the final seconds Wiagn broke away and Ellington was able to score to make it 2-0 and give Wigan their 8th win a row to keep them top of the table, and to leave Swindon 15th in the league.

Swindon now travel to face Cardiff on New Year's Day. The kick off will be at the normal 3pm.
