After plenty of early chances Swindon finally took the lead on 28 minutes after a free kick from 40 yards out from Paul Evans just crept into the net after the 'keeper had left it thinking it would go wide.
After a few more half chances Swindon had the ball in the back of the net for a second time, but Christian Roberts shot was ruled out just before the half time break for offside, so Swindon went into the half time break leading 1-0.
Andy Caton who scored two years ago at Wrexham came on off the bench to replace Aaron Brown who had already been booked.
Then on 67 minutes Peter Brezovan fouled Wrexham's Chris Llewellyn, and was given a yellow card, which was slightly lucky as Swindon didn't have a sub 'keeper and he could have been sent off. Ryan Valentine took the penalty and sent Brezovan the wrong way to make it 1-1.
Then 2 minutes later Wrexham took the lead when Mark Jones scored from 6 yards out which a goal which was down to poor Swindon defending.
New signing Paul ince came on to replace Curtis Weston, and Royce Brownlie also came on to replace Ricky Shakes.
Ince did a couple of chances but his shot was well over, and Swindon ran out of time. Overall Swindon had the best of the first half, and Wrexham had the best of the second half. A draw would have been a fair result, and now Swindon's six game winning run has come to an end., but as other teams at the top also failed to win Swindon still stay top of League Two.
Swindon's next game is at home to Milton Keynes on Tuesday night at 7.45pm.
