In December 2004 on the pitch was a mixed month with wins away at Peterborough 2-0 on Boxing Day, then 3-0 at home to Brentford two days later. Other results this month were a 1-1 home draw against Doncaster, and Notts County in the FA Cup. Swindon then lost the replay 2-0 which was shown live on TV. Also Swindon lost 2-1 at home to Huddersfield, and 2-1 away to Bournemouth.
The draw was made for the LDV Vans Trophy semi finals and Swindon were drawn against Southend.
The Town End stand was running the risk of being closed due to standing. It was never closed in the end, but some people still stand in it.
Some fans were starting to call for Andy King to be sacked, but ended up having to wait another 10 months for this to happen.
Also this month Adi Viveash was released by Swindon and joined Cirencester Town, and Swindon signed Steve Jenkins until the summer of 2006 after he had spent some time on loan at Swindon from Peterborough.
At the end of the month Swindon signed 17 year old Lee Holmes on loan from Derby County. He went on to play 15 times for Swindon scoring once.
