During May 2005 the season finished with a 1-1 home draw against Chesterfield with a goal by Sam Parkin in his final game for the club. Swindon finished the season mid-table in 12th place.
Also Grant Smith left Swindon to sign for Bristol City after his was offered a new deal by Swindon, but turned it down. Swindon were being linked with moves to sign Bolton's Ricky Shakes and Charlie Comyn-Platt, both who did end up joining Swindon.
The club set a date for it's AGM meeting which was held on May 31st.
Swindon were also rejecting bids for Sam Parkin, but the 20 goal a season striker ended up signing for Ipswich Town. Swindon also rejected bids for Sean O'Hanlon, and they released Brian Howard.
