In September 2006 after their great start to the season September's results weren't as good. There was an a 2-0 away win at Chester, and a 2-1 home win over Milton Keynes, but Swindon lost away to Wrexham 2-1, and at home to Peterborough 1-0. There were also 1-1 draws against Notts County, Wycombe, and Boston.
Bill Power ended his links with Swindon after being injured in a plane crash in August, however later the Trust were able to get him back, Dennis Wise was being linked with the Leeds United job, and Bob Holt resigned as a Swindon director after saying in an interview that Dennis Wise wouldn't be leaving Swindon for Leeds.
