Preston's reserve 'keeper Andy Longergan joined on loan as a replacement for the injured Peter Brezovan, but his loan was short lived and Phil Smith took over in goal. Andy Gurney also retired from football, and after 10 years the Nationwide Building Society ended their sponsorship of Swindon.
