This Time Last Year - August 2006

With Dennis Wise in charge Swindon made their best ever start to a season winning the first 6 league games against Hartlepool, Barnet, Rochdale, Darlington, Stockport and Chester. In between Swindon went out of the Carling Cup against Brentford after a 2-2 draw after extra time Swindon lost 4-3 on penalties.

After the first game of the season against Hartlepool a small plane carrying Bill Power, Mike Sullivans, Mark Devlin, and his son, plus the pilot crashed in Buckinghamshire. All were injured, but have since recovered.

Also have many rumors Paul Ince signed for Swindon, but is spell at the County Ground didn't last long as he was unfit, and couldn't cope with commuting every day from Cheshire. He soon left Swindon to become manager of Macclesfield Town.
